Introducing Buckledown My T Storm....aka “Tego”
Personality plus is the best way to describe “Tego”. Rising 5yo Appaloosa Bred Gelding.
Solid Liver Chestnut with 4 white socks (one fore is just a smidge of a coronet), blaze, complemented by a magnificent dark chestnut mane and tail. Although not genetically tested, it appears he will not colour out, therefore will be suited to open comps without colour prejudice.
He has a good ground covering trot, fabulous walk (dressage judges will love it) as well as a canter that is balanced and correct (does need work on transitions and strength)
Tego is registered Sportaloosa International. He was broken in as a 3yo and has had limited work since then with both exp riders and beginners, never putting a foot wrong.
He has never had any artificial aids put on him throughout his young years or breaking in process. He is a true blank canvas with basics done, ready to work with his new rider. He has been to several PC/ARC rallies and lessons at different venues. While he has no bite, buck, bolt etc in him, I would say he is not suitable for a beginner, yet, due to his age/inexperience
Genuine Show Hunter build, will easily handle a male/tall rider due to his strong build. Flashy enough to stand out in a crowd, but smooth & sane enough to mix it with the best of the them.. Ideal Rider class horse as he is so smooth in his trot and canter. Would definitely suit a Child Show Hunter prospect for exp young rider coming off a pony. Eligible all newcomers as has never been shown.
This young man has been taught to self load on the float, will hard tie up all day, easy to wash/rug, has been full body clipped in previous years, great for the farrier to trim (strong feet, barefoot his entire life), has not shown signs of being matey (is usually towards the bottom of the herd, has lived in up to 4 horses per paddock). Brought up on farms so machinery, trucks, tractors, etc are not a problem.
However.....MUST, and I mean MUST, have GOOD electric fencing. He can sniff out non electrics from a mile away and will simply work his way through it (and destroy rugs in the process!!!). Its really his only bad trait!!!
Perfect for an experienced rider who needs a horse to help regain their confidence again, while still remaining competitive. Also suitable for an experienced home who may not be a show/comp home but someone who understands he is young and still needs some guidance/education/exp.
Also suitable as a Ranch Pleasure/Trail prospect for an amateur/yth rider
He is due to come back into work this weekend with a Dressage rider to commence further education. Price may increase with further education/outings.
Video available from Dec 2016, more video will be available in the near future once back in work.
This is not an urgent sale, home if far more important. Trial possible on property to the right applicants. I am advertising on behalf of the owners, therefore pls email or phone me in the first instance. Thank you
